Journalist @mikaMartinHaim is breaking that Arsenal have signed trialist Alharbi El Jadeyaoui from Angers for a fee in the region of £3 million. The left sided attacking midfielder was taking on a two day trial earlier this week and supposedly has impressed Wenger enough to be signed up.
Who the hell is Alharbi El Jadeyaoui?
He played for Angers in Ligue 2 last year and topped the assist charts, predominantly a winger he can play as a striker or in the centre of the park. He is of Moroccan nationality and turned 27 today, if this signing is true he must be there to help fill the squad up after an extraordinary summer that has seen 28 players go including a number of fringe first team players including Gervinho for £8 million to Roma which was confirmed today.
Whilst this isn’t the big name signing Arsenal fans wanted at least some movement is occuring and before people slate the player can anyone say they know who he is or his capabilities. Wenger picked Koscielny up for £8 million when he had played just one season outside Ligue 2 and at the time people slated Wenger but now Koscielny is widely accepted as our best defender.
Time will tell if this is actually a signing and if it is how useful the player is.
What do you think?
Personally not the signing we wanted but our squad is thin and we needed some players. Wenger has a good knowledge of French football and I’m willing to wait to see how the transfer works out as for £3.5 million worth a risk.
