Arsenal’s interest in the Turkish international, Galatarsary based striker Burak Yilmaz is well known but it is quite clear that he is below Suarez and Higuain on Arsenal’s shopping list. However with Arsenal looking to have cooled their interest slightly with Real Madrid as they have increased their asking price for Higuain and with Liverpool looking to stand firm in the Suarez transfer saga, Arsenal may have to look else where.
Burak Yilmaz had a prolific season for Galatarsary bagging himself an impressive 32 goals in 39 appearances including a perfect hat-trick, 1 left foot 1 right foot and 1 header, versus Cluj in the Champions League. Even the arrival of Drogba in the January transfer window did not see his eviction from the first team and he had a more important role than Drogba in Galatasary winning the Turkish League. He has been in and out of the Turkish team since making his debut in 2006 but since moving to Galatasary he has been a regular.
Galatasary as a club having been growing and manged to reach the Champions League final losing 5-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid after an absorbing 3-2 victory at home. Despite the clubs growth in stature Burak Yilmaz has been linked to Europe’s bigger clubs and earlier in the season when asked on Arsenal’s interest he risked the club’s wrath by responding ” I would accept a transfer to Arsenal,”
At 6 ft 2 he has an impressive frame of a figure but combines this with pace and lethal finishing to be one of Europe’s deadliest strikers. He has a keen eye for taking the early shot which is epitomised with his tendency to volley where possible often catching the keeper unawares. At 28 years old he still has a few years at the top of his game ahead of him;
So if Arsenal miss out on Suarez and Higuain, which is a possibility, would you be happy with them signing one of Europe’s deadliest strikers who got 6 goals in 6 Champions League group games last year?
